Boon-Naba commends the SES
Boon-Naba, the paramount chief of the Bongo Traditional area, has commended the Senior Expert Service (SES), a German volunteer group working
in several countries. He made the remarks during a brief ceremony in which he decorated two senior experts with traditional smocks produced in the
area. The two senior experts were Mr Gerhard Lauth and Rudiga. The former has worked as Principal Advisor to the TEERE CEO since 2015. He was in
Ghana again with support from the SES to help in the planning process to start the TEERE Local Government Forum (TLGF). The TLGF is a citizen’s
participation project which is being implemented by TEERE with funding from the Robert Bosch Foundation of Germany. Mr Rudiga who was in Ghana over
50 years ago came to Ghana again on the invitation of some carpenters also with the support of the SES.
The Paramount Chief, Naba Salifu Alemyaarum, was very impressed about the contribution of the senior experts and their mother organisation, the SES.
He therefore expressed the gratitude of the people Bongo and the Upper east region of Ghana for the huge contribution they have made and continue to
make in the region. He expressed his interest in getting a senior expert with expertise in tourism to help develop tourism potential in the Bongo
Traditional Area. The two senior experts took some time to explain the work of the SES and a senior expert to the Chief and presented him with a
brochure on SES. They then referred him to the SES national representative who is also a staff of TEERE, Ms Patience Ataabasum Avea. Several other
senior experts have come to the region on various assignments facilitated by the national representative.
In appreciation of their contribution to the region and as a show of the proverbial hospitality of the people of Bongo, Naba Alemyaarum, decorated the
two senior experts with two traditional smocks.
The senior experts were very happy and appreciative of the chief’s kind gesture. They expressed their gratitude to the chief for the show of respect to
them and their organisation. The meeting ended with a beer party at the invitation of the chief.
